New partnership will increase clinicians’ access to more complete patient information and a richer patient history

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Network for Enhanced Services (LANES), the leading health information exchange for Los Angeles County, has announced a major Data Participation Agreement with Community Health Alliance of Pasadena (ChapCare). ChapCare operates 3 health centers throughout the San Gabriel Valley and serves over 14,000 patients. Through this participation, ChapCare will be able to share medical records with all other data participants of this health information exchange.
“We are thrilled to begin collaborating with ChapCare,” says Ali Modaressi, LANES Chief Executive Officer. “ChapCare will now have access to real-time electronic patient data to better serve the San Gabriel Valley.”
Health care organizations have spent millions of dollars installing and implementing electronic health record technologies, but many of these systems are not able to talk to each other. LANES technology is a catalyst in changing that by aggregating data from disparate systems.
Through this new partnership, ChapCare will be able to safely and securely exchange patient medical records with any organization on the LANES system, which will help improve care coordination, reduce duplicative treatments while helping to avoid costly mistakes. Ultimately, it will lead to better health outcomes and improved health for the residents of Los Angeles County.
